Admission

IIT Ropar course admissions 2024 are open for various programmes offered at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. IIT Ropar admission is completely entrance-based for B.Tech, M.Tech, and MSc courses to students across Engineering, Science, and various other streams. IIT Ropar admission to most of the courses is done through national-level entrance exams including JEE Main/ JEE Advanced, IIT JAM, and GATE, among others. The institute allows admission to its B.Tech program through the JEE Mains followed by the JEE Advanced Exam. The JEE-qualified candidates are required to register themselves for the JoSAA counselling for the seat allocation process.
Apart from the flagship B.Tech program, IIT Ropar also offers M.Tech, and MSc programs at the PG level. Candidates have to appear for the GATE and IIT JAM entrance examinations for the M.Tech, and MSc programs respectively. On clearing the entrance tests, students will have to register for the respective counselling sessions such as COAP and JAM to reserve a seat at the institute. Also, IIT Ropar offers a PhD program at the doctoral level in 11 different departments. Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship for B.Tech students

Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship for M.Sc. students

• The applicant must score 6.0 or more CGPA.
• The income of family should be up to 4.5 Lakhs per annum.
• Scholarship for M.Tech/M.S students: The students who possess B.E/B.Tech/B.Des and have qualified GATE/GPAT are eligible for fellowship amount (12,400).
• Scholarship for Ph.D. Scholars: To avail JRF scholarship and fellowship amount (25,000 per month + 10% HRA if applicable), the applicant should have PG Degree in Basic Science with GATE/NET score or the applicant must hold Degree in the professional course. Whereas, to avail SRF scholarship and fellowship amount (28,000 per month + 10% HRA if applicable), the applicant must have cleared JRF with two years of research experience. The students can also apply for Post-Doctoral Fellowship after the completion of three years of the Ph.D..
